It doesn't really make sense to me. :S

Re: Super-Mega-Ultra 50% Off Atlus PSN Sale

I just wish they could have made it so that you could play the PSP titles on the PS3. Then my wallet (more like my boyfriend's wallet) would be hurting. I own Droplitz already and unless I get a PSP before the sale is over, I'm out of luck.

Re: Super-Mega-Ultra 50% Off Atlus PSN Sale

Man, I want to buy almost every game on this list! The exceptions are the Personas because I already have those lol. When I read about the technology being used to do the facial animations for the characters in this game, my interest was grabbed. And by seeing that trailer, it looks to be very promising.

Re: BioWare Goes Binary in Preparation for Big VGA Announcement

Whatever it is, they have my attention. Platform is nearly irrelevant in this kind of scenario. If Sega suddenly started making amazing consoles, do you think they'd use someone besides Sonic?

The original Metal Gear Solid was an NES, top down, action game, but did anyone know about Snake before Konami basically invented the stealth genre of games? Nah. That's pretty mascot worthy, though I stick by my earlier comment that people who kill can't really be PR-worthy mascots.

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

Oh, and speaking technically, Snake's Revenge was a half-baked sequel (made without Kojima's supervision) to the original Metal Gear which debuted on the MSX in Japan. Just sayin'.

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

I didn't say he'd be a good mascot. You sure Snake is a good Sony mascot?

Isn't the point of a mascot to promote ONE team...not three?

Re: Remastered Prince of Persia Sands of Time Trilogy Coming Soon

Rather than buy these on PSN, I wonder if it would be cheaper to just import the European version later.

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

You mean those ports and remakes of games that originally launched on PlayStation hardware? Nintendo has always had an over-reliance on Mario as a brand (cut out the Mario-branded products from Wii game sales and it'd leave a fairly sizeable hole - bigger by far than cutting any one brand from PS3 or PS2), and Microsoft has a similar issue with Halo. Playstation's strength, on the other hand, has always been about providing a wide variety of quality gaming experiences. Instead of having one 'uber-mascot', it's got a very strong selection of brands, from God of War (Kratos), Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Sly Cooper, inFamous, GT5, Wipeout, Motorstorm, LittleBigPlanet (Sackboy) and SOCOM (strong brand, but no-one outside of it knows Jester as the legend he is ;)).

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

i always see it as final fantasy :P
or god of war.
but ya there is not much of a mascot.

Re: Versus Mode: Remaking Final Fantasy 6 (yo k tuck I think this is ready son)

I can't believe I'm actually commenting here, but I've been playing FFVI lately, for maybe the third time, and I've found it to be a lot less impressive than I remembered it being a long time ago. I thought it was a great game, and it's still one of my favorites, in any genre, but I think peoples favorite games tend to be ones that they played at an age when they were very open to new things. So I think saying that FFVI is by far the best Final Fantasy game is pretty biased and opinionated. The characters are cool, and are a big improvement over FFV's, but they have very minimal dialogue, and are very underdeveloped. FFIX had some ridiculous-looking characters, but they definitely felt a lot more alive and full of personality to me. FFVI had some nice environments, but the story didn't spend enough time in a lot of them, in my opinion. I didn't find FFVI particularly more emotional than than the games in the series that came after it. I'd like to see a 3D FFVI too, but I thought FFVII and IX were better games. And I've always found Amano's art creepy, deformed, and out of place with the feel of the games. Sorry for the opposing opinion.

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

Sackboy nuff said

Re: Black Ops Gets Updates

MW2 had spawn issues of their own, in fact a lot of the same issues Black Ops has comes right from MW2. Can't you leverage the same algorithm? There were a few times when a chopper gunner was in the air in Nuketown, and I just got p'wned the very first second I spawned - A FEW DAMN TIMES IN A ROW. Go take a class on how to implement spawn system.

Re: Community Voice #20: Who’s PlayStation’s “Mascot”?

what the heck? didnt even know that they had a mascot there. Mario has worldwide appeal and everyone knows Mario even if they don't game. I don't think any other gaming console has anything close to that. SEGA would be the closest with Sonic but they dont make consoles anymore so...

Re: Baldur’s Gate II on Good Old Games

As much as I adored this game in its time, I'm not sure I could go back and play it again.
